Description
This semi-automatic pistol is a Colt MK IV Series 70 Government Model chambered in .45 Automatic caliber. The handgun is constructed with a blued steel slide and frame, featuring a standard five-inch barrel with a hood marked COLT 45 AUTO MK IV SERIES 70. The left side of the slide is engraved with COLT’S MK IV/SERIES ’70, GOVERNMENT MODEL, and 45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER alongside the rampant colt logo. The right side of the slide is marked COLT’S GOVERNMENT MODEL, while the right side of the frame is stamped with the manufacturer information, COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A., and the serial number 70G99732. The firearm is fitted with checkered wood grip panels containing silver-toned Colt medallions. Aiming is facilitated by a fixed front blade sight and a rear notch sight. This lot includes three single-stack magazines and a black plastic Doskocil hard case. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol exhibits visible signs of wear and age, including surface oxidation and light pitting across the slide and frame. The original blued finish shows thinning on the high points, trigger, and grip safety. The checkered wood grips remain in good condition with minor handling marks. The action appears to function correctly; however, we have not function-tested this firearm.
