Description
This Marlin Model 90 is an over-under break-action shotgun chambered for 20 gauge shells. The firearm is equipped with 26 inch barrels featuring a matted top rib and a brass bead front sight. The metal surfaces consist of blued steel barrels and a receiver that has aged to a characteristic plum-colored patina. It is fitted with a two-piece walnut stock and forend featuring point-pattern checkering and a pistol grip, finished with a black serrated synthetic buttplate. Key markings on the left side of the top barrel include The Marlin Firearms Co. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. – EST. 1870 and MODEL 90 – 20 GAUGE – CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4″ SHELLS. The serial number F 159 is stamped on the underside of the receiver, and the matching serial 159 appears on the barrel flats along with a circled JM proof mark. The action appears to function correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good condition, showing moderate honest wear from use. The blued finish on the barrels remains largely intact with some thinning at the muzzles and along the edges, accompanied by light handling marks and surface scratches. The receiver exhibits a uniform plum-brown patina characteristic of this model. The walnut furniture is structurally sound with minor dings and scratches throughout, and the checkering shows moderate smoothing from handling. The bores are bright with no signs of pitting or obstruction. The action is tight and the break-open lever remains to the right of center.
