Description

This lot consists of 316 rounds of assorted .22 caliber rimfire ammunition across seven boxes. The collection includes four boxes of Remington Hi-Speed .22 W.R.F. (Remington Special), catalog number 1822, in red and green packaging marked Remington Hi-Speed, 22 W.R.F. (REM. SPL.), Inside Lubricated, 50 Rim Fire Cartridges, and DuPont. There is one box of Remington Kleanbore Standard Velocity .22 Rim Fire cartridges, catalog number R28, marked Standard Velocity, Kleanbore, 50 Rim Fire Cartridges, and DuPont. One box of Winchester Western Super X Extra Power .22 Rim Fire cartridges is present in white, red, and blue packaging. Additionally, the lot contains one box of Remington dummy cartridges marked 50 Rim Fire Dummy Cartridges, identified by a black oxidized case, and specifying that they contain no powder or primer and are intended for testing and mechanical demonstration. The dummy box further identifies the manufacturer as Remington Arms Company, Inc., Peters Cartridge Division, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Cartridges in the Remington and Kleanbore boxes feature lead bullets with a stylized U headstamp, while the Winchester cartridges are copper-plated hollow points with a SUPER X headstamp. The dummy rounds are inert with black cases and copper-colored bullets.

Condition report:

The paper and cardboard boxes exhibit moderate to heavy wear consistent with age, including scuffing, edge tears, staining, and tape residue. The ammunition cases show varying levels of surface patina and light oxidation. The lead bullets in the Remington boxes show common white lead oxidation on the surfaces. The copper-plated Winchester rounds exhibit light tarnishing. The dummy rounds show minor finish wear on the black oxidized cases. The live ammunition appears to be in functional condition, though they have not been tested for reliability.
