Description

This lot consists of two primary components for a Parker Brothers Grade G break-action side-by-side shotgun, being offered as a parts gun for repair or restoration. The assembly includes a set of Damascus steel barrels and a corresponding hammerless receiver. The top rib of the barrels features a single bead front sight and is marked PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL. verbatim. The receiver is decorated with light scroll engraving on its sides and floorplate and retains its top lever and tang-mounted safety. The water table of the frame is struck with the serial number 103580 beneath the number 2 and the letter G, indicating a Grade G configuration. Patent dates on the water table are transcribed as PAT’D JAN 18. AUG 16. 1887 and MAY 7-OCT. 8. 1889, while the underside of the barrel lug is marked PAT’D JAN 14. 1876. This firearm is incomplete, missing its wooden stock, forend, and likely various internal components. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

Both the barrels and the receiver show significant signs of age and wear. The Damascus pattern on the barrels is visible but obscured by a dark patina, thinning finish, and areas of surface oxidation. There is minor to moderate pitting present on both the exterior and within the bores. The receiver exhibits similar finish loss with a gray-brown patina and scattered surface oxidation. The engraving remains legible. The action was not fully function-tested due to the absence of key furniture and internal components.
