Description
This Smith & Wesson Model 36 is a double-action revolver chambered in .38 S&W Special and built on the J-frame platform with a five-shot capacity. The firearm features a 1.75-inch barrel with a fixed ramp front sight and an integral notch rear sight. The metal surfaces are finished in a deep high-polish blued steel, while the trigger and serrated hammer are case-hardened. The square-butt frame is fitted with checkered walnut grips featuring silver-colored Smith & Wesson medallions. Key markings include SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel and 38 S.&W. SPL. on the right. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Smith & Wesson monogram, while the right side bears the manufacturer four-line address. When the cylinder is open, the yoke is marked MOD. 36 with the assembly number 13592. The serial number 573654 is clearly stamped on the butt of the frame. The revolver is accompanied by a gray padded zipper case with a Moose Brand patch from Brauer Bros. Mfg. Co. of St. Louis, MO. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in good used condition with the original blued finish showing light holster wear at the muzzle and high points of the cylinder. There are faint handling marks and thin scratches visible on the frame. The case-hardened finish on the hammer and trigger remains vibrant. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action appears to function correctly with positive timing and cylinder lock-up, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The checkered walnut grips are well-preserved with minor dings and crisp checkering. The included Brauer Bros. soft case shows minor external wear and is fully functional.
