Description

This lot consists of 184 rounds of vintage Federal Hi-Power .22 caliber rimfire ammunition distributed among four original cardboard boxes. The grouping includes two boxes of No. 710 .22 Long Rifle copper-plated cartridges, one box of No. 712 .22 Long Rifle hollow point copper-plated cartridges, and one box of No. 705 .22 Long copper-plated cartridges. Each box features the classic blue and white graphic design with bold red lettering. The cartridges are constructed with brass casings and copper-plated lead bullets, featuring the characteristic incised F headstamp on the base rim. Markings on the packaging identify the manufacturer as the Federal Cartridge Corporation of Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A. Verbatim markings include Federal No. 710 Hi-Power .22 Long Rifle Copper Plated, Federal No. 712 Hi-Power .22 Long Rifle Hollow Point Copper Plated, and Federal No. 705 Hi-Power .22 Long Copper Plated. The reverse side of the packaging notes that the rounds utilize non-corrosive priming and wax-lubricated bullets intended for small game hunting or plinking.

Condition report:

The cardboard packaging exhibits moderate to heavy age-related wear, including scuffing, softened corners, edge tears, and visible adhesive tape residue on the No. 712 box. The ammunition itself shows significant oxidation, with a notable white powdery buildup on the copper-plated lead bullets and the wax lubricant. The brass casings exhibit varying degrees of tarnishing and surface discoloration throughout. While the cartridges appear to be live, they are sold as vintage collectibles due to the visible corrosion and unknown storage history.
