Description

A lot of 20 vintage Winchester .30 Army centerfire cartridges, also known as .30-40 Krag, featuring 220-grain Full Patch round-nose bullets. These smokeless cartridges were manufactured in August 1930, as indicated by the date code on the side of the two-piece cardboard box. The ammunition was originally intended for use in Krag-Jorgensen rifles and Winchester Model 1895 repeating arms. Prominent markings on the top label include the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. signature and a warning regarding the seal of the package. The side label is marked 20 WINCHESTER .30 ARMY FULL PATCH SMOKELESS CARTRIDGES WINCHESTER MAKE with the manufacture date code 8-30. Verbatim headstamps on the rimmed brass cases are marked W.R.A. CO. .30 ARMY. The cartridges are seated within a partitioned cardboard interior.

Condition report:

The two-piece cardboard box is in fair to good condition, showing age-related shelf wear, toning, and light staining, though the labels remain largely intact and legible. The ammunition consists of 20 live cartridges. The rimmed brass cases exhibit significant tarnish and dark oxidation throughout. Several cartridges show heavy white corrosion on the case heads and primers. The copper-jacketed bullets show minor surface oxidation consistent with long-term storage in a non-climate-controlled environment.
