Description

This lot consists of a collection of 258 rounds of .22 Long Rifle caliber rimfire ammunition manufactured by Peters. The ammunition is contained within six individual cardboard boxes representing various product lines. The grouping includes one yellow box of Peters Rustless .22 Long Rifle No. 2279 and five blue-and-red boxes of Peters High Velocity ammunition. The High Velocity boxes include three designated as Hollow Point, one designated as Shot, and one standard .22 Long Rifle box. Although the boxes are originally marked for 50-round capacities, the verified total count for this lot is 258 rounds. Key markings transcribed from the packaging include PETERS, RUSTLESS, HIGH VELOCITY, HOLLOW POINT, .22 LONG RIFLE SHOT, and the DU PONT logo. The individual cartridges feature brass cases and lead projectiles. The headstamps are marked with the manufacturer name PETERS in an arc at the top with the letters HV centered in the middle. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The cardboard boxes show age-related wear consistent with vintage ammunition, including edge fraying, surface scuffing, and corner compression. Several boxes feature repairs or reinforcements with adhesive tape, and one box has handwritten notations in ink. The individual cartridges appear to be in good condition with some natural tarnishing to the brass cases. The lead projectiles exhibit varying degrees of white oxidation or lead bloom typical of long-term storage. The ammunition appears to be live and original to the packaging.
