Description
This is a SIG AM-57 battle rifle chambered in the 7.5x55mm Swiss cartridge, an export/civilian-oriented variant of the iconic Stgw 57. The rifle features a 23-inch barrel housed within a ventilated metal handguard and shroud, equipped with an integral folding bipod and a prominent muzzle brake featuring grenade-launching rings. The firearm is constructed with a matte black finished receiver and features a polymer pistol grip and a black synthetic buttstock with an integrated recoil pad and sling slot. The action is a roller-delayed blowback system with a large beer-keg style charging handle and a fire selector lever marked S for Safe, E for Semi-auto, and M for Full-auto. Verification of markings reveals Honey Creek Mfg. / Hovermale Ind. / Converse, IN. and serial number P7883 on the left side of the receiver. The right side is marked Mdl. AM-57, Cal. 7.5 Swiss, and Ser. 287883. The top of the receiver is stamped with a Swiss shield containing a cross, the serial number A 287883, and a P proof mark. This lot includes one detachable box magazine marked SIG and 7883, two rolled brown leather slings, Original clip on night sight in the grip handle storage, and a bayonet with a ribbed black handle and a 9.5-inch bright blade marked W over 43295 accompanied by a black scabbard and leather frog. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in very good condition, retaining the vast majority of its matte black finish with only minor handling wear and light friction marks typical of bipod and charging handle operation. The polymer buttstock and pistol grip are excellent, showing very few signs of use. The bore is bright with sharp, clean rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The magazine, bayonet, and leather slings are in very good condition, showing minimal aging and remaining supple.
