Description
This is a Savage Model 99E lever-action rifle chambered for the .300 Savage cartridge, a configuration highly regarded for hunting and sporting use. The firearm features a blued steel barrel and receiver paired with a plain, uncheckered hardwood stock and forend. It is equipped with a ramped blade front sight and an adjustable leaf rear sight, and the top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting with four filler screws currently in place. A defining characteristic of this model is the internal rotary magazine, which includes a brass round-counter indicator visible through a window on the left side of the receiver. Key markings include the model designation SAVAGE MODEL 99E above the letter F on the receiver ring and the serial number 1042734 stamped on the underside of the receiver. Barrel markings specify the caliber .300 SAVAGE alongside the text HI-PRESSURE STEEL – PROOF TESTED and the manufacturer address SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION WESTFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. The stock is finished with a factory-style black ribbed polymer buttplate. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The steel components retain a significant amount of their original blued finish, with minor thinning and wear visible on the high edges of the receiver and the lever from normal use. The hardwood stock and forend are in good condition, showing scattered handling marks, shallow scratches, and small dings but no cracks or structural repairs. The bore was not inspected but the exterior of the muzzle appears clean. The lever-action cycles smoothly and the trigger and safety mechanisms appear to function as intended, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested.
