Description
This lot consists of a vintage cardboard box of .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition manufactured by the Remington Arms Company, Inc. This Palma Match target ammunition features Lesmok Powder and was designed for expert target shooting at ranges up to 200 yards. The red and cream one-piece box contains a lot of 50 cartridges. Verbatim markings on the face include .22 LONG RIFLE, 50 RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES, Palma Match, Lesmok Powder, and REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. NEW YORK, AMMUNITION AND FIREARMS, BRIDGEPORT, CONN., U. S. A., LONDON. The lower corner is marked 54PM. Side panels state that these cartridges give the highest degree of accuracy at all standard ranges up to 200 yds and are designed particularly for the expert target shooter. The bottom guarantee panel features the Remington UMC circle logo and a purple ink stamp reading S 21 M. The cartridges themselves have copper-toned cases with a U headstamp and lubricated lead bullets featuring multiple grease grooves. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The cardboard box shows moderate shelf wear with rubbing at the edges and corners along with minor soiling consistent with age. The red and cream colors and printing remain clear and legible. The ammunition cartridges exhibit a natural dark patina on the copper-toned cases. The lead projectiles show typical light white oxidation on the surfaces while remaining in their original seated positions. The lot is complete with 50 rounds.
