Description
This Smith & Wesson Model 686-4 is a double action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, designed for both duty and sporting use. The firearm features an approximately 4-inch barrel with a full-length underlug and a stainless steel finish across the barrel, frame, and six-round cylinder. The frame is fitted with black, textured rubber wrap-around grips featuring finger grooves and the Smith & Wesson logo. Sights consist of an adjustable rear sight and a ramped front sight with a red insert. The hammer and trigger exhibit traditional case-hardened coloring. Key markings include SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel, S. & W. 357 MAGNUM on the right side of the barrel, and a four-line address on the right side of the frame transcribed as MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS. The frame crane is clearly stamped with the serial number CAN7921 and the model designation MOD 686-4. Included with the single firearm is a blue plastic manufacturer’s hard case and a Safety, Instruction & Parts Manual. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in very good to excellent overall condition. The stainless steel finish shows minor surface handling marks and a faint turn line on the cylinder. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The rubber grips are well-preserved with no significant wear or degradation. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double action, although we have not function-tested this firearm.
