Description
This is a Remington Model 700 VLS (Varmint Laminated Stock) bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington, designed for precision target shooting and varmint hunting. The firearm features a 26-inch heavy-contour barrel with a blued finish and a polished, jeweled bolt body. It is equipped with a right-handed laminated wood stock that includes a raised monte carlo cheekpiece, dual sling swivel studs on the forend, and a black rubber recoil pad with the Remington logo. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation Remington MODEL 700 and the serial number E6219828 on the left side of the receiver. Barrel markings specify the caliber 223 REM. followed by the manufacturer warning and address WARNING-READ INSTRUCTION BOOK FOR SAFE OPERATION-FREE FROM REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC., ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. The rifle is fitted with a Burris 4X-12X variable power scope featuring a duplex reticle, mounted on a two-piece base system. The optic body is marked 4X-12X Burris on the turret housing. Condition report:
The rifle is in very good overall condition. The blued finish on the barrel and receiver is well-preserved, showing only minor surface handling marks and no significant signs of pitting or rust. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The bolt-action cycle is smooth and appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The laminated wood stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or major dings, retaining a smooth satin finish. The Burris optic features clear glass with functional magnification and focus rings, showing light wear on the adjustment caps. The recoil pad is intact but exhibits some superficial white oxidation characteristic of its age.
