Description
This lot features a Walther LP Model 53 break-action, spring-piston air pistol chambered in .177 caliber. The pistol is configured with a matte black finish and black checkered composite target grips featuring the Walther logo. A wooden cocking knob is fitted at the muzzle to facilitate the break-action charging cycle. Prominent markings include the serial number 006299 on the left side of the frame, with the right side bearing the Walther banner above the text LP Mod. 53, Cal. 4,5, and Walther’s Patent. The pistol is housed in its original wood-grain-patterned cardboard box marked LUFTPISTOLE LP Cal. 4,5 Modell 53. The lot includes two 250-count tins of RWS pellets in Superdome and Meisterkugeln styles, a plastic bag containing felt cleaning pellets and black components, and a group of four maintenance rods comprising one brass rod with a ring handle and three steel rods, one of which features a flared aluminum handle.
Condition report:
The air pistol remains in good overall condition with the matte black finish exhibiting light surface wear and minor dust. The checkered composite grips are in good order with sharp checkering and no significant damage. The break-action mechanism appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested the compression or seals. The original cardboard box displays significant wear, including edge abrasions, corner separation, and surface loss to the printed lid. The pellet tins and maintenance tools show minor signs of use and age-related oxidation.
