Description
A carved and painted duck decoy representing a Northern Pintail drake. The decoy features a carved wooden head with inset glass eyes joined to a textured cork body. It is finished in a traditional pintail color scheme including a chocolate-brown head, a white neck stripe, a light gray body, and a black tail. A green speculum with black and white accents is painted on the wings. The construction includes a visible seam where the head meets the body. The underside exhibits a rough, unfinished texture with several small, dark holes where weights or rig hardware were previously attached. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or brand names are present on the piece.
Condition report:
The decoy shows signs of age and previous field use. There is minor paint wear and small chips on the bill and tail. The cork body shows a pitted surface texture and scattered abrasions throughout. The neck seam is secure but visible.
