Description
This lot consists of three vintage leather handgun holsters of varying construction and style. The first item is a brown leather holster featuring an embossed geometric border along the top edge and a retaining strap secured with a brass snap; the reverse is fitted with integrated belt loops. The second item is a dark brown to black leather holster decorated with brass studs and three red glass jewel-style embellishments, mounted to a wide leather backing with a large riveted belt loop in a Western style. The third item is a brown leather holster with a textured grain that includes three integrated cartridge loops on the face, currently holding a total of 12 cartridges arranged in one row of six and two rows of three. The ammunition consists of lead-tipped rounds in brass casings. While faint markings are present on the reverse of the first holster, they are not clearly legible and no definitive manufacturer was identified.
Condition report:
All three holsters exhibit an age-appropriate appearance with significant surface wear, scuffing, and visible cracking or crazing to the leather surfaces. The brass-toned hardware on the first and second holsters shows a developed patina and some verdigris. The ammunition rounds in the third holster show oxidation to the lead tips and tarnish on the brass casings; they appear to be live rounds. The stitching remains largely intact across the group, though some fraying is present at the stress points.
