Description
This lot comprises 120 rounds of vintage .30-06 Springfield ammunition contained in six original commercial boxes from the Western Cartridge Co. and Winchester Repeating Arms Co. The group features one box of Western Power-Point with a 1964 dated label for 168-grain boat-tail match hand-loads, one box of Western Super-X Silvertip with 180-grain controlled expanding bullets, and one box of Western Super-X with 110-grain soft-point Lubaloy bullets. Also included are a box of Winchester Super Speed with 180-grain soft-point cartridges, a box of Western Lubaloy with 220-grain soft-point boat-tail bullets, and a box of Western Super Match with 180-grain full metal case boat-tail match ammunition. Visible headstamps on the brass casings are verbatim transcribed as WESTERN 30-06 SPRG, WESTERN 30-G-1906, and SUPER-X 30-06 SPRG. The collection showcases a diverse range of mid-century projectile designs, from round-nose soft points to pointed match bullets with Lubaloy coatings.
Condition report:
The original cardboard packaging displays age-appropriate wear, including edge scuffing, surface abrasions, and historical retail price markings. The ammunition appears to be live and well-preserved, with some brass cases exhibiting a natural aged patina and localized areas of mild oxidation. The Lubaloy coated projectiles are intact but show expected surface dulling due to age.
