Description
This semi-automatic pistol is a Colt Government Model chambered in .45 ACP and is accompanied by a factory Colt Archive Properties authentication letter. The firearm features a 5-inch barrel and is finished in a high-polish bluing with checkered brown plastic grips displaying integrated rampant colt medallions. Prominent markings include the left side of the slide inscribed with GOVERNMENT MODEL COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER .45 alongside a rampant colt logo, while the right side of the slide is marked COLTS MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. The right side of the frame displays the serial number 248363-C, and the barrel is marked COLT .45 AUTO on the top of the chamber. Small proof marks, including a VP in a triangle and the letter E, are present on the trigger guard. The included archive letter identifies this specific serial number as part of a 300-gun shipment sent to the State of Connecticut Military Department, Military Dept. State Guard, State Armory in Hartford, Connecticut, on February 23, 1951. The lot includes one blued seven-round magazine and a green and tan SportLock soft case. Condition report:
The blued finish exhibits moderate handling wear throughout, characterized by light scratches on the polished flats and thinning at the muzzle and high edges of the slide and frame. The checkered brown plastic grips show light use but remain well-defined with distinct medallions. The barrel shows typical operational wear on the chamber. The action appears to function correctly, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The included archive letter and soft case are in good condition.
