Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of .30 Herret centerfire rifle ammunition, comprised of hand-loaded wildcat cartridges. The ammunition is housed in two blue plastic MTM Case-Gard flip-top storage boxes. Each cartridge is assembled using reformed brass cases fitted with copper-jacketed bullets. Handwritten labels on the interior of the box lids identify the rounds as .30 Herret and specify a bullet weight of 110 grains with a round-nose full metal jacket (RN FMJ) profile. The labels also include hand-loading data noting 16.5 IMZ 4227 and 20.5 H110. Visual inspection of the cartridge headstamps confirms the use of several different parent brass cases, with markings including HORNADY 30-30 WIN, R-P 30-30 WIN, W-W SUPER 30-30 WIN, F C 30-30 WIN, and 38-55 WIN. The configuration of the cases, specifically the shortened body and necked-down profile, is consistent with the technical specifications for the .30 Herret wildcat caliber.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good overall condition. The brass cases exhibit varying degrees of minor surface tarnish and light oxidation consistent with age and handling. The copper jackets on the bullets appear clean and free of significant corrosion. The primers are properly seated and the cartridges appear to be live. The blue plastic MTM Case-Gard boxes are fully functional with intact hinges and latches, showing only minor external scuffing.
