Description
This lot consists of 50 rounds of Peters Target .22 Short rimfire ammunition. These standard velocity cartridges are housed in their original red, white, and black cardboard box produced by the Peters Cartridge Division of Remington Arms. Each cartridge is comprised of a brass casing and a solid lead bullet with a dark gray finish. The front of the box features prominent markings transcribed as PETERS 50 RUSTLESS TARGET 22 SHORT RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES STANDARD VELOCITY along with MADE IN U.S.A. on the left edge and the identification number No. 2214 on the right. A side panel displays the PETERS TARGET name on a diagonal black band and includes the oval DU PONT logo. The end flap is printed with the content identification PETERS TARGET STANDARD VELOCITY 22 SHORT. The base of each cartridge features an incised headstamp consisting of a single letter P. No ruler is present in the provided images.
Condition report:
The cardboard box shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including surface scuffing, minor edge fraying, and light corner compression, though the graphics remain clear and vibrant. The ammunition appears original and in stable condition, with the brass casings showing age-related tarnish and the lead bullets exhibiting light surface oxidation.
