Description
This lot consists of three original two-piece cardboard boxes containing a total of 86 rounds of .22 Short rimfire ammunition. The cartridges feature brass cases and copper-plated round-nose bullets, marketed by the manufacturer under the Kopperklad name. Prominent markings on the boxes include the manufacturer name Winchester and the product line Super Speed 22 Short, along with the text 50 Long Range Rim Fire Cartridges, Staynless, Kopperklad, and Made in U.S.A. The cartridges themselves feature an incised H headstamp on the base. One box is nearly full, a second box contains approximately half its original volume with a white cotton filler, and the third box contains four loose cartridges, including two variants with silver-colored cases and lead bullets.
Condition report:
The three two-piece cardboard boxes show signs of age and storage, including edge scuffing, corner fraying, and minor tears, though the red, yellow, and white colors remain bright and the text is legible. The cartridges generally appear to be in good condition with some surface oxidation and natural patina on the brass cases consistent with their age. Four rounds in one box appear to be of different manufacture or type than the rest, including two with nickel-plated cases. The ammunition appears to be live; however, we have not function-tested this ammunition and it is sold strictly as a collector\'s item.
