Description
A vintage RCBS Competition reloading die set for 7mm Remington Magnum caliber ammunition. The set is housed in a custom-milled hardwood presentation box with a hinged lid. The collection includes one full-length sizing and decapping die and one micrometer-adjustable bullet seating die featuring an open viewing port for bullet insertion. The seating die is equipped with a graduated micrometer head for precise depth adjustments. A green translucent plastic-handled hex adjustment tool is also included. The exterior lid of the wooden case features an embossed RCBS logo within a rectangular border, and the side of the base is stamped 7MM MAG. The die bodies are marked with the maker name RCBS and the caliber 7MM REM MAG.
Condition report:
The set is in fair condition with visible signs of age and long-term storage. Both steel dies exhibit significant surface oxidation and rust, particularly on the knurled adjustment rings and the micrometer head. The exterior of the hardwood case lid shows extensive white staining, likely due to finish failure or mineral residue. The interior of the case remains structurally sound but shows dark staining from contact with the metal tools. The custom-milled interior contains empty slots, suggesting the set is missing originally included accessories such as a shell holder or alternate seating stems. The mechanical operation of the moving parts has not been tested.
