Description

This Thompson/Center Arms TCR ’83 is a single-shot, break-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington, a platform recognized for its versatility and interchangeable barrel capability. The rifle is equipped with a blued barrel and a polished blued receiver, which features a distinctive side-lever release and a tang-mounted safety. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut forearm and a matching buttstock with a Monte Carlo comb, providing an ergonomic cheek weld for use with optics. The buttstock is finished with a red rubber recoil pad featuring a black spacer and the embossed TC logo. Mounted to the receiver is a Redfield scope equipped with target-style adjustment turrets and a duplex reticle. Key markings include the manufacturer and caliber on the left side of the barrel, which reads THOMPSON : CENTER ARMS .223 and ROCHESTER, N.H. REM. The underside of the receiver is stamped with the serial number 8946 and a safety warning that reads WARNING-READ INSTRUCTION BOOK BEFORE USING. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The rifle is in good overall condition, exhibiting a strong original blued finish on both the barrel and receiver with only minor handling wear and a few faint thinning spots. The walnut stock and forearm remain attractive, showing some light scattered scratches and small dings consistent with field use, particularly on the left side of the buttstock. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The break-action mechanism locks up tightly, and the trigger and safety appear to function correctly. The Redfield optic remains clear with a sharp reticle and functioning adjustment turrets.
