Description
This is an original retail point-of-sale (POS) countertop advertising display for the Remington Model 597 .22 caliber rimfire rifle. The display is constructed of vacuum-formed plastic and features a three-dimensional relief of the firearm receiver and internal action assembly. The vertical green backboard utilizes orange leader lines to identify key engineering features including a patented barrel clamp, dual stack clip, tool steel guide rails, suspended bolt, and nickel-Teflon plated sear and hammer. Text callouts also note the last shot hold open and ergonomically designed stock. The black base displays a graphic of the full rifle under a bold orange and white NEW! headline, accompanied by the Remington logo and model name. This promotional item dates to the late 1990s, coinciding with the market release of the Model 597.
Condition report:
The display is in good overall condition with signs of retail usage. There are visible white scuffs and areas of pigment loss on the front right corner and side of the black base. Minor edge wear and light surface scratching are present on the plastic housing. The colors remain bright and the printed graphics are clearly legible throughout.
