Description
This lot features a collection of vintage centerfire rifle ammunition consisting of 26 live rounds and 20 empty brass casings. The group is presented in three period-correct boxes including a Winchester Super Speed .32 Remington box for 165 grain soft point cartridges, a Western Super-X .32 Remington box for 170 grain Lubaloy soft point cartridges, and a Western Super-X .32 Winchester Special box for 170 grain Silvertip controlled expanding bullets. Key markings on the Winchester box include the Staynless and non-mercuric designations, while the Western boxes specify Lubaloy coating and non-corrosive priming. Headstamps on the cartridges are transcribed verbatim as REM-UMC 32 REM and SUPER-X 32 WIN SPL. The .32 Remington rounds are specifically noted on the packaging for use in Remington autoloading and Stevens rifles. The brass casings and live rounds exhibit a natural aged patina and the boxes show typical shelf wear from long-term storage.
Condition report:
The three cardboard ammunition boxes show significant age-related wear, including frayed edges, surface abrasions, corner crushing, and fading of the printed graphics. The live ammunition and empty brass casings show varying degrees of surface oxidation, verdigris, and tarnishing consistent with vintage items. The lead tips of the soft point bullets exhibit common white oxidation, and the Silvertip jackets show characteristic aging. We have not function-tested this ammunition and it is sold as a collectible group for display or component utility only.
