Description
This lot consists of five factory replacement barrels manufactured by Remington Arms Co. for the XP-100 bolt-action pistol and the Model 600 series rifles. The collection features four blued steel barrels chambered in .221 Remington Fireball and one longer tapered barrel chambered in .243 Winchester. Each component includes a threaded breech end for installation and is fitted with external mounting blocks or studs used to secure the barrel within its stock or chassis. Verbatim markings on the .221 Fireball barrels specify Remington Arms Co. Inc. Ilion, N.Y. Made in U.S.A. .221 Rem. Fireball. The .243 caliber barrel is marked Remington Arms Co. Inc., Ilion, N.Y. Made in U.S.A. .243 Win. These barrels were standard for Remington’s mid-century specialty platforms and remain in their original factory profiles. Note – As these items are firearm components and not complete receivers, they do not require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrels are in poor condition, exhibiting significant signs of long-term storage neglect and exposure to moisture. Widespread surface oxidation, heavy rust, and pitting are present across the blued exterior surfaces of all five items. The threaded breech ends show notable rust accumulation and debris which may affect installation without professional remediation. Bores were not fully inspected but are expected to show similar levels of fouling or corrosion consistent with the exterior condition.
