Description
The Franchi Alcione S.P. is an over-under break-action shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch or 3-inch shells. This specimen is configured with 28-inch blued barrels featuring a ventilated top rib and mid-rib. The blued receiver is decorated with gold-inlaid game bird motifs on the side plates, depicting a pheasant in flight on the left side and a pair of woodcocks on the right, all accented with a gold-plated trigger. The firearm is stocked in checkered walnut with a pistol-grip and matching forend, terminating in a black rubber recoil pad with the Franchi logo. Key markings include the model designation MOD. ALCIONE on the barrel and Alcione S.P. in script on the side plates. Verbatim markings on the top left barrel transcribe as IMPORTED BY BENELLI USA CORP. / ACCOKEEK (MD) – MADE IN ITALY and on the top right as READ OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE USING GUN / FRANCHI S.p.A. – BRESCIA – MADE IN ITALY / 12 Ga. 3 – FOR 2 3/4 OR 3 SHELLS. The action flat is stamped with the serial number FH41983 and Italian proof marks, including the BZ date code indicating manufacture in 2005. This lot includes a Franchi-branded black hard plastic case, an owner’s manual, a warranty tag, and a green plastic snap cap. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in excellent, near-mint condition. The factory blued finish on the barrels and receiver is deep and consistent, showing nearly 100 percent coverage with no visible thinning or surface oxidation. The walnut furniture is exceptionally well-preserved with sharp checkering and a smooth finish free of notable handling marks. Both bores are bright and mirror-like. The action is tight with a firm lockup, and the break-lever and safety appear to function correctly. We have not function-tested this firearm.
