Description
This lot features a collection of 200 rounds of vintage Winchester Precision EZXS .22 Long Rifle match ammunition, organized into four original 50-round boxes. Marketed for target competition, these cartridges utilize the Lesmok propellant, a semi-smokeless powder blend once prized for its accuracy in target rifles. The cartridges are constructed with copper-colored cases and lubricated lead round nose bullets featuring prominent grease grooves. Key markings on the distinct blue and yellow boxes include WINCHESTER PRECISION EZXS, SUPREME ACCURACY MATCH CARTRIDGES, and LESMOK. The manufacturer is explicitly identified as WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN., U. S. A. with the product code K 2238 R appearing on the end flaps. Condition report:
The four cardboard boxes show age-related wear, including shelf rubbing, edge fraying, and minor surface soiling. One box is open and shows a tear on an end flap. The internal ammunition exhibits surface oxidation consistent with long-term storage, primarily presenting as a dull grey frosting on the lead bullets. The copper cases show a darkened patina with some light verdigris or surface spots. The lot remains in a well-preserved, unrestored state.
