Description
This lot consists of 10 factory magazines manufactured by Colt for the AR-15 and M16 platforms. These are 20-round capacity box magazines designed for 5.56mm ammunition. Each magazine features a straight-walled body constructed of lightweight aluminum with a gray-toned anodized finish. The floor plates are made of stamped steel and feature the rampant colt logo alongside verbatim manufacturer markings including COLT AR-15, CAL. 5.56 MM, COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. INC., and HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. These magazines utilize a two-piece construction typical of early to mid-production Colt patterns and are fitted with aluminum followers. The collection shows varying degrees of handling and field use, though the structural integrity of the aluminum bodies remains intact.
Condition report:
The magazines are in used condition, exhibiting finish wear, scuffing, and scratches throughout. Most magazines retain a significant portion of their original gray finish, though one magazine shows notable brownish surface oxidation and discoloration on its exterior body. The stamped steel floor plates are generally well-preserved with clear and legible markings, though some show minor surface rust at the edges. The followers are functional under spring tension, but the magazines have not been loaded or function-tested with ammunition.
