Description
This is a wooden replacement buttstock designed for a Marlin Model 38 slide action rifle. The stock is constructed from a dark stained hardwood, likely walnut, and features a raised Monte Carlo style comb. The forward section is inletted to interface with the rifle receiver and trigger group. The underside of the stock features two pre-drilled holes for mounting hardware; the forward hole is fitted with a decorative white ringed bushing designed to accept a sling swivel stud. No manufacturer markings, serial numbers, or caliber designations are present on the exterior of the wood. This item is missing the buttplate, sling swivel studs, and all mounting screws.
Condition report:
The buttstock is in used condition, showing a variety of scattered surface scratches, small indentations, and handling wear consistent with age and field use. The finish remains largely intact with no evidence of major gouges or structural repairs. The inletting is clean and appears structurally sound with no visible cracks or splits throughout the wood.
