Description
This Browning Auto-5 is a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun featuring the iconic long-recoil operating system and a blued finish. The firearm is equipped with a checkered walnut stock and forend, and an aftermarket brown ventilated recoil pad. Key markings on the barrel include BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST. LOUIS MO. and ** SPECIAL STEEL-12 GAUGE-SHELLS 2 3/4″ along with Belgian proof marks such as the BP in an oval. The left side of the receiver is marked BROWNING above TRADE MARK surrounding a bust of John Browning, with the serial number B33431 transcribed below. The shotgun features a single front bead sight on the plain barrel. The walnut furniture exhibits a pistol grip and traditional checkering patterns. The recoil pad is marked WHITE LINE and MERSHON Co., Inc. LOS ANGELES 15, CALIF. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish exhibits silvering on the sharp edges of the receiver and areas of thinning and light surface scratches on the barrel. The walnut stock and forend show numerous dings, scratches, and minor compressions consistent with field use, but remain structurally sound. The bore is bright and appears well-maintained. The action cycles smoothly. The aftermarket Mershon recoil pad shows some age-related wear and hardening but remains intact.
