Description
This lot contains 79 empty brass casings in .300 Savage caliber, presented in four distinct storage containers. The collection includes three Western Super-X Silvertip boxes originally intended for 180 grain controlled expanding bullets and one plain cardboard box with handwritten notations. Marking transcriptions for the casing headstamps include SUPER-X 300 SAV. and REM-UMC 300 SAV. indicating production by both Western and the Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Company. The plain cardboard box features manual inscriptions of 150gr and 39.5, which likely represent historical handloading specifications. The brass components exhibit a darkened aged patina with varying levels of surface oxidation. The associated packaging displays moderate shelf wear, including edge fraying, scuffing, and miscellaneous owner markings consistent with long-term storage.
Condition report:
The brass casings show significant age-related darkening and scattered oxidation throughout the lot. All primers appear spent, and the casings are currently in an uncleaned state. The cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear with scuffed surfaces, frayed edges, and corner softening. Handwritten notations and partially removed labels are present on the exterior of the containers.
