Description
This is a single-shot bolt-action target rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, built on the prestigious Match 54 action. The rifle features a heavy blued target barrel and receiver. The walnut target stock is designed for competitive prone shooting, characterized by a deep, checkered pistol grip, an adjustable buttplate with spacers, and a full-length metal accessory rail on the underside of the forend. Prominent markings on the left side of the receiver include the serial number 39738 followed by J.G. Anschütz GmbH. Waffenfabrik Ulm/D. Germany. To the left of the serial number are German proof marks including an eagle over N and the date code 64, signifying manufacture in 1964. The top of the receiver is stamped with the Anschütz logo. Barrel markings specify 1411 Match 54 on the top surface and Cal. .22 long rifle on the left side near the receiver. The rifle is fitted with a micro-adjustable rear diopter aperture sight and a front globe sight with an integrated sunshade. This lot includes a black hard carrying case and a Savage Anschütz Model 64 owner’s manual. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle retains a significant amount of its original blued finish, with visible silvering and finish wear at the muzzle. The walnut stock is in very good condition, showing minor handling marks and preserving crisp checkering on the grip. The diopter sights appear to function correctly through their range of adjustment, although the front globe sight assembly shows light surface oxidation. The bolt action appears to function smoothly, though the rifle has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The bore was not inspected.
