Description
This lot features a F.lli Pietta 1851 Navy Yank single action percussion revolver chambered in .44 caliber, configured with a 7.5 inch octagonal barrel. The firearm displays a high-polish nickel-plated finish throughout the frame, barrel lug, and hammer, extensively decorated with scrollwork engraving. The cylinder is gold-plated and features an engraved naval battle scene, complemented by a gold-toned trigger. It is fitted with smooth, cream-colored synthetic grips. The revolver is presented in a wooden storage case with a blue felt-lined interior and includes a full suite of accessories: a copper and brass powder flask with an embossed eagle and shield motif, a brass and steel two-cavity bullet mold, a brass percussion cap tin, an L-shaped nipple wrench, a small bag of lead balls, and original Traditions manufacturer paperwork. Key markings include “BLACK POWDER ONLY 44 CAL.” on the left barrel flat, “F.LLI PIETTA – MADE IN ITALY” on the right barrel flat, and “LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 2000” inscribed on the top flat. The serial number 001448 is stamped on the underside of the frame. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in excellent, highly-preserved condition, appearing to be in an unfired state. The nickel finish is bright and clean with no visible wear, scratches, or pitting. The gold plating on the cylinder and trigger remains vibrant. While the bore was not directly inspected, the overall lack of residue on the cylinder face suggests it is in pristine condition. The single action mechanism appears to function correctly with crisp timing, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The synthetic grips are secure and free of cracks or chips. The wooden case and all included accessories are in like-new condition.
