Description
This lot comprises 70 rounds of .45 Colt caliber ammunition, consisting of a full 50-round box of Remington cartridges and a partial 20-round box of Winchester cartridges. The Remington ammunition is housed in a vintage two-piece reddish-brown cardboard box marked for the Remington Arms Company, Inc. UMC Bridgeport Works and is labeled for 50 centerfire cartridges with 250-grain bullets. The cartridges feature brass cases with headstamps reading REM-UMC 45 COLT and are topped with lead round-nose bullets. The secondary component is a yellow Winchester Center Fire Cartridges box containing 20 loose rounds. These cartridges feature brass cases with headstamps reading W-W 45 COLT and lead round-nose bullets, with many displaying red primer sealant. This collection represents a significant grouping of vintage revolver ammunition suitable for collectors or enthusiasts of the .45 Colt platform. Condition report:
The Remington box exhibits significant age-related wear, including fraying at the edges, surface loss, and old tape residue on the top and sides. The ammunition within remains in good collectible condition, though the lead bullets show expected surface oxidation. The Winchester box shows moderate shelf wear with minor crushing at the corners. The loose Winchester cartridges appear in good condition with minor tarnishing to the brass cases and oxidation on the lead projectiles. All cartridges appear to be live ammunition.
