Description
This Benjamin Model 342 is a multi-pump pneumatic air rifle chambered in .22 caliber. The rifle features a brass barrel and receiver assembly with a blackened finish that shows significant wear across the metal surfaces, revealing the underlying brass. It is fitted with a two-piece walnut stock, consisting of a smooth buttstock and a ribbed pump-handle forend. The sighting equipment includes a ramped front blade and a rear adjustable peep sight mounted on the receiver. Verbatim markings on the receiver identify the manufacturer and model as 342 and BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, with the origin specified as MADE IN U.S.A. The serial number is transcribed as H334290. Condition report:
The air rifle is in used condition, showing substantial thinning and wear to the blackened finish on the barrel and receiver, exposing the brass construction beneath. The walnut stock and forend exhibit various minor dings, scratches, and handling marks consistent with its age and utility. The multi-pump pneumatic action appears to function correctly, though it has not been tested for its ability to hold pressure or fired with pellets. The bore was not inspected.
