Description

This auction lot features one Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 double-action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. The firearm is configured with an 8-3/8 inch barrel and a six-shot cylinder. The metal surfaces exhibit a high-luster blued finish, complemented by a case-hardened hammer and trigger. It is fitted with checkered wood target grips featuring silver-colored Smith & Wesson medallions. Sights include a pinned red-ramp front sight and a micro-click adjustable rear sight. Verbatim markings on the left side of the barrel read SMITH & WESSON, while the right side is marked 44 MAGNUM. The right side of the frame bears a large Smith & Wesson trade mark logo and a four-line address reading MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS. The serial number N321669 and the model designation MOD. 29-2 are clearly stamped in the crane cutout. This lot includes a wooden presentation case, a Smith & Wesson authorized service center pamphlet, a cleaning rod with brass brush and cotton mop attachments, and a small metal-handled screwdriver tool. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The revolver is in excellent overall condition, retaining a high percentage of its original high-luster blued finish with only a faint turn line on the cylinder. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly with tight lockup and proper timing. The checkered wood grips are well-preserved with sharp texture and minimal handling marks. The wooden presentation case shows light external scuffs consistent with storage but remains structurally sound.
