Lot 5:
RCBS 40004 Three-Piece Reloading Die Set .257 Weatherby Magnum
Sold for: $35
Description
This RCBS reloading die set is designed for the .257 Weatherby Magnum cartridge and is housed in its signature green plastic storage case. The set consists of three components including a full-length resizing die, a universal seating die, and a cylindrical guide tool marked .257 WM. Each die is manufactured from steel with a polished finish and features knurled lock rings with set screws for precision adjustment. Key markings on the exterior of the case include RCBS PRECISIONEERED Reloading Dies and RCBS, INCORPORATED, OROVILLE, CA 95965, along with a manufacturer part number label identifying the set as 40004 and a handwritten caliber designation of 257 WEATHERBY. The dies themselves are engraved with Weatherby SIZER and Weatherby Universal in a decorative script. The set appears to be a specialized reloading kit for this high-velocity rifle caliber and does not show evidence of missing primary components from the factory configuration.
Condition report:
The dies exhibit a polished steel finish with light surface oxidation and minor signs of previous use. The knurled adjustment rings are intact and move freely. The interior of the universal seating die shows some light residue from lubricant or carbon. The green plastic storage case is structurally sound, though the paper labels exhibit significant staining, edge wear, and some handwritten notations.
