Description

A custom World War II era theater-made fixed-blade fighting knife featuring a clip-point recurve blade. The knife is constructed with dark wood handle scales secured to a full tang by two large brass and steel bullseye pins. It features an oval steel crossguard and a flared pommel with a lanyard hole. The left side of the blade is stamped with the inscription 12/24/33 LARRY LEITH, 12/1/43, and the butt of the handle is incised with 12-24-33. These inscriptions likely identify the original owner and provide significant dates, possibly a birth date and a date of acquisition or service milestone.

Condition report:

Good vintage condition. The blade exhibits signs of professional sharpening, light surface scratches, and scattered areas of minor pitting and oxidation consistent with age. The wooden handle scales show typical wear, including dings and handling marks. No sheath is included.
