Description

A lot of 50 rounds of Western Cartridge Company Marksman .22 caliber Long Rifle ammunition, presented in its original two-piece cardboard box. The cartridges are designed with copper-washed cases and lead bullets featuring three distinct grease grooves, utilizing Lesmok high velocity powder for precision long-range shooting. Verbatim markings on the top label include 50 MARKSMAN CARTRIDGES, .22 CAL. LONG RIFLE, and LESMOK HIGH VELOCITY POWDER. The manufacturer is explicitly identified as WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY, EAST ALTON, ILL., U. S. A. The reverse side of the box features a guarantee statement for use in standard makes of arms and the company name in script. Each cartridge case head is stamped with the manufacturer’s diamond logo. The rounds are packed in alternating rows within the box, and the lot includes one sample cartridge positioned vertically atop the other rounds for examination.

Condition report:

The two-piece cardboard box shows significant signs of age and handling, including frayed corners, surface abrasions, and losses to the paper label at the edges. The ammunition is live but the copper-washed cases exhibit noticeable oxidation. The lead bullets show common white lead oxidation and corrosion across their surfaces. The overall integrity of the packaging is fair, though the cardboard has become brittle with age.
