Description
This Winchester Model 52B is a bolt-action target rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, configured with a heavy blued target barrel. The rifle features a smooth walnut stock with a semi-pistol grip, target forend, and a checkered steel buttplate. Visible markings on the barrel include WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL—MODEL 52—WINCHESTER TRADE MARK—.22 LONG R.— along with the Winchester WP proof mark. The receiver is marked MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. — NEW HAVEN. CONN. — PATENTED — on the left side and displays the serial number 59451 B with an accompanying WP proof on the receiver bridge. Mounted to the barrel is a vintage R.A. Litschert Spot-Shot target scope on external adjustment blocks, featuring a standard crosshair reticle. The rifle includes a single five-round detachable box magazine. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows thinning and handling wear consistent with its age, particularly around the muzzle and high points of the action. The walnut stock remains in good condition with scattered scratches, dings, and impressions from field use, primarily on the buttstock and forend. The bore is bright with strong rifling visible. The optic glass is clear with a sharp reticle and functioning external adjustment knobs.
