Description
This lot consists of 250 loose rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO centerfire rifle ammunition manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The cartridges are constructed with brass cases and copper-jacketed projectiles. The case heads feature verbatim headstamp markings including the manufacturer code L C at the 12 o’clock position, the NATO four-pointed cross within a circle at the side, and numerical year codes 0 8 and 0 9 at the 6 o’clock position, denoting production in 2008 and 2009. The ammunition is stored loose in a clear plastic container and is not accompanied by original manufacturer packaging.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in live, unfired condition. The brass casings exhibit various stages of aging, including significant surface tarnish, oxidation, and numerous instances of green verdigris corrosion across the lot. The copper-jacketed projectiles show light surface oxidation but appear otherwise intact. Prospective bidders should account for the surface corrosion when evaluating the lot.
