Description
This is an American Derringer Corp. Model M-1 over/under break-action derringer chambered in .45 Auto. The pistol features 3-inch barrels with a bright, polished stainless steel finish throughout the frame and barrel assembly. It is fitted with smooth, reddish-brown wood bird’s head grips and a cross-bolt safety located behind the hammer. The top of the barrel is equipped with a fixed blade front sight, and the hammer features a textured spur for improved purchase. Markings are extensive and well-defined: the left side of the top barrel is marked .45 AUTO, while the lower barrel bears the cautionary text WARNING-ENGAGE SAFETY BEFORE LOADING OR UNLOADING. The right side of the barrels is engraved with the commemorative inscription MADE IN 150TH YEAR OF TEXAS FREEDOM above M-1 AMERICAN DERRINGER CORP. WACO, TEXAS. The serial number 053361 is stamped into the right side of the frame near the hinge. The left side of the frame features safety indicators labeled SAFETY, IN-SAFE, and OUT-FIRE. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in very good overall condition, exhibiting a bright, highly reflective polished stainless steel finish with only minor surface handling marks and light scratches consistent with careful ownership. The bores are bright with sharp rifling and no signs of corrosion or pitting. The action appears to function correctly, with the break-open mechanism locking tight and the hammer and trigger engaging properly. The smooth wood grips are in excellent condition, retaining a deep color and high-gloss finish without significant dings or cracks.
