Description
This Remington Model 33 is a single-shot bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges and is configured with a 24-inch round barrel. The markings on the top of the barrel identify the maker and model as REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. – PATENTS PENDING – MODEL 33 while the left side of the barrel/receiver junction is marked Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. and the barrel is further marked .22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE. The firearm features a one-piece walnut stock with a smooth grip and a notable crack on the right side of the wrist extending back from the receiver. The sighting system consists of a fixed front blade and an adjustable rear elevator sight. The rifle is completed with a steel buttplate and exhibits a heavy brown patina across most metal surfaces. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show a heavy brown patina throughout with significant surface oxidation and areas of pitting. The wood stock has several small dings, scratches, and a prominent crack at the wrist. The bore has not been inspected. The bolt action appears to function mechanically, but the rifle has not been test-fired or checked for safety. The steel buttplate shows heavy surface rust and oxidation.
