Description
This lot comprises three 30-round aluminum magazines designed for AR-15 and M16 pattern rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. Two of the magazines were manufactured by Ray Industries, Inc. of New Britain, Connecticut, and bear the CAGE code 33710 along with manufacture date stamps of 5-03 and 7-04 respectively. These two examples feature green plastic followers and a gray dry film lubricant finish, and they are stamped on the reverse side with restricted-use text reading RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOV’T/LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT USE ONLY. The third magazine was manufactured by Center Industries Corp. of Wichita, Kansas, and features a green follower, restricted-use text reading RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOVERNMENT OR BATF APPROVED EQUIVALENT, and an improvised olive drab fabric adhesive wrap with a cord loop pull at the base.
Condition report:
The magazines exhibit a gray dry film lubricant finish with varying degrees of wear, scuffing, and minor scratches consistent with field use. The Ray Industries magazine dated 5-03 shows the most significant wear with extensive finish loss and exposed aluminum across the body. The Ray Industries magazine dated 7-04 shows light to moderate wear with minor scuffing. The Center Industries magazine shows moderate finish wear and is wrapped in an improvised olive drab fabric adhesive tape with a secure paracord pull tab. All three magazines retain functional springs, and the green plastic followers move freely.
