Description
This Mossberg Model 500A is a pump action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, designed for sporting and field applications. The firearm features a 28 inch blued barrel with a ventilated rib and a brass bead front sight. The receiver is finished in a high gloss black and is fitted with a wooden buttstock and a ribbed wooden forend, with the stock capped by a vented brown rubber recoil pad. Key markings on the receiver underside include Mossberg MADE IN U.S.A. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. 500A 12 GA and the serial number J711085 is visible on the right side. The left side of the barrel is marked MOSSBERG MADE IN U.S.A. CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS 12 GA – 28 IN. ACCU-CHOKE. Included with the shotgun are two additional choke tubes and one metal choke tube wrench. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good used condition. The blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube shows minor thinning and very light surface freckling. The glossy black finish on the receiver displays some light scratches and handling marks. The bore is bright and clean. The action appears to cycle smoothly; however, we have not function tested this firearm. The wooden furniture remains attractive with minor dings and handling marks consistent with field use. The recoil pad remains pliable.
