Description
This Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight is a pump-action 12-gauge shotgun configured with a 26-inch ventilated rib barrel chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells. The barrel markings include MODEL 37 – FEATHERLIGHT – 12 GA. – 2 3/4 CHAMBER – PROOF TESTED and ITHACA GUN CO., INC. ITHACA, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. – ROTO [anvil symbol] FORGED followed by an I.CYL. stamp indicating an Improved Cylinder choke. The receiver is roll-engraved with classic hunting scenes featuring a dog and two pheasants on the right side and three ducks over a marsh on the left side, with the serial number 371502911 stamped on the lower right forward edge. Small P proof marks are present on both the receiver and the breech end of the barrel. The shotgun is equipped with a checkered walnut pistol-grip stock and a matching checkered slide handle, finished with a reddish-brown recoil pad embossed with the Ithacagun logo. Sighting is handled by the ventilated rib and a red fiber optic-style front bead. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a fair amount of the original blued finish with moderate thinning and wear throughout, particularly on the receiver edges and the magazine tube. There are scattered scratches and small areas of surface oxidation visible on the receiver and barrel. The walnut furniture shows various dings, scratches, and areas of finish loss consistent with field use, but the wood remains structurally sound without visible cracks. The bore is bright and appears to be in good condition. The reddish-brown recoil pad shows wear and slight compression from age.
