Description
This High Standard Double-Nine is a double-action revolver chambered for .22 caliber rimfire cartridges, featuring a design that blends traditional western styling with modern double-action functionality. The firearm is equipped with a 5.5-inch blued steel barrel and a swing-out nine-shot cylinder. The frame and barrel retain a blued finish, while the furniture consists of cream-colored polymer grips with a simulated stag texture and inset brass-colored High Standard eagle medallions. Sighting is accomplished via a ramped front blade with a red highlight and a notched rear sight. The revolver is accompanied by a black and tan padded fabric soft case featuring a shield-shaped GW logo. Key markings include the manufacturer information on the right side of the barrel, stamped HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP. HAMDEN, CONN. U.S.A. The left side of the barrel is marked HI-STANDARD followed by a bull head logo, DOUBLE-NINE, and .22 CAL. The left side of the frame below the cylinder displays the serial number 1638649 positioned above the model designation W-104. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver shows visible signs of moderate use and wear to the blued finish. There is significant thinning of the bluing along the barrel, cylinder, and frame edges, accompanied by scattered surface scratches and abrasions. A light turn line is present on the cylinder. The cream-colored polymer grips are in good condition, showing only light handling marks and no visible cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, exhibiting minimal signs of fouling. The double and single action mechanisms appear to function correctly with positive cylinder timing and lockup, although the firearm has not been live-fire tested.
