Description
This lot consists of five reloading tool components, including four individual reloading dies and one decapping rod assembly. From left to right, the first item is a steel reloading die with a knurled upper portion stamped with the characters 45 ACP and a lock ring marked INC. WASECA. MINN. which is attributed to Herter’s Inc. The second item is a steel reloading die with an intact decapping pin, stamped 30 CAL with a lock ring marked HERTER’S INC. WASECA. The third item is a sizing die stamped SIZER 38 SPL with a lock ring marked HERTER’S. The fourth item is a separate steel decapping rod or expander assembly with dual knurled lock rings. The fifth item is a steel reloading die stamped 45 ACP housed in a clear plastic protective cylindrical case marked 45 ACP in blue handwritten marker. These items represent vintage reloading equipment manufactured by Herter’s Inc. of Waseca, Minnesota, and are designed for use with standard reloading presses.
Condition report:
The dies and components exhibit an overall blued or bare steel finish with visible surface wear, handling marks, and dust accumulation within the knurling. There is moderate surface oxidation and light rust present on the lock rings, the knurled bands, and the separate decapping rod. The threads on all components appear to be intact but show dirt and residue consistent with age and use. The plastic case shows light scuffs but is functionally intact. We have not function-tested these reloading components in a press.
