Description
This lot consists of a bulk quantity of 250 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO centerfire rifle ammunition produced by the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The cartridges feature brass casings and full metal jacket projectiles, consistent with standard military specifications for training and field use. Verbatim headstamp markings on the base of the cartridges include the letters LC at the twelve o clock position and two-digit year codes such as 00, 03, and 04 at the six o clock position, identifying production in the years 2000, 2003, and 2004 respectively. The ammunition utilizes a centerfire primer system and is intended for use in rifles chambered for 5.56mm NATO or .223 Remington cartridges. The projectiles are copper-jacketed lead core bullets typical of military surplus lots.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in mixed condition throughout the 250-round lot. While some cartridges retain a bright and golden brass finish, a significant number of rounds exhibit heavy surface tarnishing and darkened oxidation. Multiple individual cartridges show localized corrosion and green verdigris buildup, particularly around the case necks and shoulders. The projectiles appear properly seated and the primers are unspent. This ammunition has not been function-tested and is sold as-is.
